Shavua Tov,
Wow, this is extraordinary.
A suggestion: Because high resolution is so crucial for these invaluable manuscripts, the files are necessarily huge. Too huge.
My attempt to download the Leningrad Codex as currently hosted will apparently take about four hours…
Would it be possible to supplement the full files with partial ones? E.g. Aleppo-Torah (unfortunately just a few pages), Aleppo-Neviim-Rishonim, Aleppo-Neviim-Aharonim, Aleppo-Ketuvim-1, Leningrad-Torah, etc. Or perhaps even smaller ones…
Thanks so much for making this available to the public.
It’s to annoying to have so many small files. And also a pain to make. Just use some kind of downloader program that can restart the download. Opera web browser has one built in.
Hello. Have you noticed that there are quite a few missing pages in the Keser Aram Tzova file (263)?
I see nearly all of Shoftim missing after the first few pages (pp. 42-45 in the file). Then starting on page 46 is already Shmuel, put missing the initial part of the book.
That is all I’ve seen, but I’ve only skimmed neviim rishonim so far. (These parts are not missing in the Keser itself.) Any idea where they might be?
Thank you, David
I have not checked the files. I got them from someone so I don’t have any way to get the missing images. Did you compare it to the images that are linked on Hebrew University’s website and see if they have the missing pages? The link is http://jnul.huji.ac.il/dl/mss/heb5702/index_eng.html
Thank you for your reply. That doesn’t seem to be the link though (it is to a different codex). It would be great if you could check with your source.
Sorry, that was the Damascus Codex.
Here is the right link to the Aleppo Codex:
